Gate Hinged Box Sneak Peak!

May 23, 2013 by

Here’s a sneak peak of the Gate Hinged Box project. This box holds six “6 Pack” mini albums. It also is sized to fit the pouches for the Sizzix thin dies. There are two box options that will included in the pattern, the horizontal version shown here and a vertical version…the vertical version is the same dimensions only oriented vertically.

The kits for this project will go up on my website at 7 pm PDT tonight. there are 3 versions:  Tim Holtz French Industrial (shown), Prima Journal Pad, and Simple Stores Snap Life. I am making a limited number of kits, when they are gone they will be gone. The kits are schedule to ship out in time for the Ustream class that begins on Friday, June 7. The pattern should be available late next week.

I am loving the versatility of this project! The “Six Pack” albums are perfect for those events that you want to record that you don’t need a lot of photos for. They are more than a card but not as involved as a full mini album. They make a perfect small gift as well. The box can also be a great Recipe Box.

P.S. Weekdays, weekends, holidays all seem the same to me these days…as a result I kind of forget those Monday holidays! The Captured Under Glass class video will post on Wednesday instead of Monday due to the holiday and it’s effect on shipping times and posting the pattern. I PROMISE this will be the LAST revision in start date for this project!! LOL!!

A quick note….

May 22, 2013 by

I put the wrong date for the Magic Fold Album on this mornings post…it is on Friday, May 24…sorry for the confusion!

Also, please be assured that the move of the Captured Under Glass project to video vs. the live show will not reduce the amount of info that will be included. I will be showing how to assemble the box, the mini album pages inside as well as the embellishment of the project. In fact, you will probably get more info in the video than in a live class as I don’t get distracted by the chat and off on tangents.

See you in just a bit…

May 22, 2013 by

Here is the list of supplies you will need for Friday’s Ustream Class:

12 x 12 patterned paper (single or double sided), 1 sheet for each page of album, 1 additional sheet for album cover

(2) 6 x 6 pieces of chipboard

1 yd ribbon, 3/4″ to 1 1/2″ wide

Roll of 1/4″ score tape or similar, (glue will work but it will take longer to construct

Additional patterned paper, card stock, die cuts, tags etc. to embellish album

Assorted embellishments of your choice.

The original was made from a pad of Graphic 45 A Place in Time and had 12 pages (one for each month). You can choose your favorite paper from you stash as well. I am going to pull something from my stash for class….if I can find it!!

Color Block Album - Video release delayed to June 1

Captured Under Glass – Changed from Live class too video only. Video release date  of May 27

Refolded Paper Bag Album – Changed from Video only to Live Ustream class, starts on Wednesday, May 29, 10 am PDT

See you all later this morning!

Please remember…..

May 21, 2013 by

…the new Wednesday class time of 10 am PDT (that’s 1pm EDT, Noon CDT, and 11 am MDT) Moving the time up gives me a greater portion of the day to work on NEW projects. Pssst!…..the aliens showed up and whisked me away for a bit….bound to happen with all of the UFO’s floating around!!!

Most of what I am digging through is fabric and fabric projects, unfinished quilts, cut out quilts, old class samples and boatloads of dust!!! Allergies in high gear! The cats keep coming in all freaked out at the changes…new crannies to explore!!! It is kind of like a giant game of Rubiks cube…move this there and that here. Put the table in the new location, move that back to over there and then this can go here. Unload a shelf, stack everything over there. Move the shelf after you move the stack of tubs to under the table. Move the shelf…. put stuff back on shelf….though that stuff is going onto a different shelf but it has other junk on it. Move the tubs where the shelf was so that you can move the baskets. Take the table down……ok you get the picture!!! I figure everything will move a minimum of 3 times before it finds a home! It’s a crazy mess but, the mess of before was adding to the stress of everything else….it was getting to a point that I couldn’t move!! Tomorrow after my Ustream class I will move my work desk and computer so I will broadcast from my new “location” in the room on Friday.

Same song….different verse….

May 21, 2013 by

I have tweeked my schedule…again….I am sounding like a broken record here, but as I have said, I have to keep my schedule flexible…..you all are being super great about it!!!  You can see the revised schedule under the Class Schedule heading above.

I am moving the Captured Under Glass  class straight to video. The videos should be up here on my blog Next Monday, May 27. This class has been delayed on Ustream a couple of times and I don’t want to delay it again so I am putting it up a video on my blog instead of the live Ustream class. Kits are still shipping out but I am running a day late on them.

I started to did out my studio and it is a larger endeavor than I envisioned!!…isn’t that always the case. I am digging through many years worth of quilting UFO’s (geez, I have more UFO’s than outer space!!) and fabric projects to make more room for the more recent paper stuff. I have needed to do this for YEARS!!! It is becoming a bit of an overwhelming task. This project, combined with unexpected appointments and a weekly drive to Portland is sucking up a ton of time!

We will be finishing up the Charm Bracelet Box on Ustream tomorrow. On Friday, we will make the Magic Fold Album (this is the one I taught at CHA this past January) This can be made out of any paper from your stash. I will post a supply list latter today.

The Refolded Paper Bag project will be on Ustream (instead of straight to video) and will start on May 29. I will show a sample of the Gate Hinged Box on Ustream tomorrow and the kits will go up on Thursday (May 23). The Ustream class will begin on June 7.

The Color Box Album will stay on the straight-to-video schedule as noted in the Class schedule and will begin on June 1.

I hope this will be the last change to the schedule…I know it is confusing and I appreciate how you have all rolled with thte changes!

Refolded Paper Bag Album…

May 18, 2013 by

This is a fun, unique Paper Bag album that I will be video taping for upload onto Youtube in a week or so. Two kit versions are available on my website.

I know there are many of you that can’t find the right kind of paper bags, or the colored ones, so the pattern will include instructions for card stock “paper bags” as well. Estimated date for the release of the pattern and Youtube video is May 26. More photos to come as I complete the album. (This is the Retro Kit Version)

Have a great and creative weekend!
